Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matt. 6:19-20

One thing I understand from these words of Jesus is to do good on the earth with your treasures. Don’t be selfish! If you have been blessed with much, you have much to share. We, as people living on this good earth, have a great treasure to care for.  Another of  our great treasures is relationships with each other on earth. One of the greatest ways to save “I love you” is to give a gift – or to leave an inheritance. In the context of  Earth Day, what a great gift we can leave to those who come after us in our good care of the place where we live and where future generations will live!
