Caravanserai … Just the sound of it is exotic. Today, I would love to be walking through one of those ancient oases along the silk road. The idea of traveling transports one almost as much as an actual journey. Almost. I would still love to see up close, hear, touch, smell and taste the foods of the area. Although I cannot actually go back in history one thousand years, to stand in an ancient deserted place would go a long way towards assisting in time travel.
